Pilot Courses

Certified Flyers offers pilot courses that are tailored to the individual student. Whether you are a student pilot or a pilot seeking advanced certificates or ratings, our individualized training ensures success in the shortest time possible.

Online courses, developed by Virtual POH (www.virtualpoh.com), focus on the material you need to know to pass your FAA written. Detailed briefings cover all the topics you need to know and the actual FAA questions are covered! Study anywhere you have internet connection!

We also offer an accelerated flight training program. Training is compressed into the shortest time possible without sacrificing safety. Accelerated flight training is used by the airlines and the military. Applicants are able to obtain a certificate or rating in the shortest time possible, saving time and money.

Certified Flyers provides training in both conventionally equipped Cessna 172SP airplanes as well as Technically Advanced Aircraft (TAA) featuring the latest in avionics and aircraft design. TAA aircraft in our fleet include the Cessna 172SP G1000, Cirrus SR22. All are the culmination of the newest technology to hit the aviation market. TAA replaces the traditional gauges of the cockpit with an all-digital LCD displays. This revolutionary technology will be the industry’s standard in the near future.
Why Certified Flyers?

Unlike most other flight schools, after you graduate one of our many programs, we will locate the aircraft of your dreams or assist you achieving your career goals as a pilot. Certified Flyers can assist you with the financing, insuring and maintaining your aircraft. We now offer fractional ownership in all types of aircraft.

There are no refunds on any package or block products.
Payment Information
Credit Cards: there is a 3% surcharge added to all credit card purchases. This is due to the small margins Certified Flyers is committed to providing their clients.

For payments using cash or checks there is no surcharge. Bounced check fee is $35.00. Checks must clear prior to ANY Multi Engine training.
TSA Requirements
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requires every person to prove his or her citizenship status (including U.S. citizens) prior to undertaking flight training for the issuance of a new certificate or rating or the addition of a certificate or rating (does not include recurrent training), in an aircraft weighing 12,500 pounds or less. Additionally, all non-US citizens, including those holding a permanent resident "green card," must complete a background check process with TSA.

The Process

1. Go to www.flightschoolcandidates.gov and create an account. Submit background information and required documentation.

2. Request Category 3 training, which applies to candidates who seek flight training in the operation of aircraft with a maximum certificated takeoff weight of 12,500 pounds or less for the following training events:

A. Initial airman's certificate, including a private, recreational, or sport pilot certificate. If a private and/or commercial license is the candidate's initial FAA license, it is considered an initial airman's certificate and is not exempt.

B. Instrument Rating (IR)

C. Multi-Engine Rating (MEL)

3. Once a training request has been submitted and successfully paid ($130), you will receive an email with detailed instructions on how to complete the application process. Each step must be completed before a Candidate advances to the next step.

Finger prints are required. Finger print cards are available at CAE Simuflite located at 4 Apollo Drive, Whippany, NJ 07981, (973) 581-7400.

4. The TSA will communicate with you and Certified Flyers via email. Certified Flyers will verify your training at the school. Once the background check is completed successfully, you and Certified Flyers will receive notification that you may commence flight training.
